Blended Worship Service
The Blended Worship service is described as follows:
|
The words “Blended Worship” refer to a combination of past and present. Although it does not regularly include all parts of the historical Lutheran liturgy, the service is planned around this tradition. The main focus of the service is the Word of God, which is spoken and sung.
Holy communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month.
Music includes traditional hymns and more recently written sacred songs which are led by an organist or pianist. Words to hymns and songs are shown on power point.
Sometimes the choir or a soloist leads the singing. Hymns and liturgies are chosen from various resources, the main one being the new Lutheran Service Book. An occasional drama, puppet show or video presentation provides variety. The music ministry of the Blended Choir and visits from the two children’s choirs, as well as soloists add to the worship experience. |
